Germany: new look for shops

18 shops opened and modernised in 2009 so far.

The k presse + buch shop at Braunschweig railway station has a shiny new look. The shop, which covers 280 sq.m., was refurbished in October, in line with the shop design concept of Valora Retail, market leader in railway and airport bookstores in Germany. However, the shop in Braunschweig is only one of a total of 18 shops which have been opened or converted so far in 2009.
Valora Retail is opening five more new k presse + buch shops at Essen station at the end of the year. "So the k presse + buch brand is continuing its expansion in the railway and airport bookstore market in 2009 ", says the Managing Director, Mathias Gehle. “At the same time k presse + tabak is the leading brand in the specialist press retail sector."
