Alexander Theobald nominated new head of Valora’s Valora Media/Services division with effect from May 1, 2010.

Alexander Theobald, M.A. began his publishing career in 1994, working for the German publishing group Axel Springer in Hamburg and Berlin, before joining Switzerland’s Ringier AG as chief publisher of their Schweizer Woche magazine in 1995. Between 1996 and 2003, he held various management positions in the fields of publishing and marketing for the Tamedia group, where he was a member of senior management. In 2004, he was appointed head of Ringier AG’s Swiss magazine division, and a member of Ringier’s group executive management. In 2007 he assumed new group executive management responsibilities for the Ringier group, directing their publishing operations in Hungary and Rumania.

With effect from May 1, 2010, Alexander Theobald, who is 46, will be head of Valora’s Media/Services division, taking over these duties from Thomas Vollmoeller, Valora’s CEO, who has been managing the division on an interim basis since January 1, 2010. Alexander Theobald will also become a member of Group Executive Management when he joins Valora. His substantial expert knowledge of all aspects of publishing and his international marketing and management experience are ideal prerequisites for strengthening this division and developing it further.
