The foundation for k kiosk was laid in 1934 with the establishment of Kiosk AG. In the 1990s, this company, along with Schmidt-Agence, was acquired by Merkur AG, which later became the Valora Group. In 2004, the kiosks were rebranded as k kiosk. Currently, the k kiosk retail outlets at SBB locations are being modernized with a new shop concept featuring even more food options.
In addition to Switzerland, k kiosk also has a presence in Germany and Luxembourg.
