Trainee Programme

Valora’s trainee programme is designed as an entry level training and development programme for qualified university graduates. The aim of the programme is to train and develop the next generation of employees for the long term.

Over the course of a 12-month period the trainees prepare themselves for future management responsibilities at Valora. The trainee programme has been a firm fixture at Valora since 2008. In the introductory phase our trainees receive an insight into the different areas and sales formats within our business. In addition, they get to know all the key people and interfaces and build a network of contacts within Valora. The focus of the trainee programme lies on training the trainees on the job. This is accompanied by individually customised training measures.

Management trainee programme

Following their induction, management trainees work on various projects. Here you would have the opportunity to bring in and apply the specialist and methodological skills you have acquired whilst studying. Management trainees work on at least three projects in different areas. In each case, current and relevant tasks are chosen which have a strong practical focus, are implemented effectively and offer added value to the enterprise. Furthermore, in each project, the trainees will be mentored by an experienced specialist in the area.

Who are we looking for?

Motivated fresh talents who have successfully completed a course of study at a university or university of applied sciences (preferably in business administration or similar), and who have the following characteristics:

  • Initial work experience from work undertaken whilst studying
  • Team player with a convincing demeanour and a capacity for enthusiasm
  • Innovative personality with an interest in introducing and implementing his/her own ideas
  • Flexibility and resilience
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Strong communication skills and a confident style in German

For the operation of our comprehensive network of sales outlets, we rely on qualified specialists in various areas. We offer work in the areas of Marketing, Category Management, Purchasing, Finance & Controlling, Communications and Human Resources.

The size of our main office (around 300 employees) covers diverse areas of activity and simultaneously enables uncomplicated and direct cooperation. The flat hierarchies and the informal atmosphere facilitate this further.

The development and support of our employees is very important to us. New recruits can soon take on responsibilities. Where possible, vacancies are filled internally.
