Personnel changes within the Valora Group

There will be two personnel changes within the Valora Group. Peter Obeldobel, CEO Retail Germany and member of the extended Group Executive Management, and Michel Gruber, Managing Director Food Service Switzerland, will leave the company in January 2019. Members of Group Executive Management Roger Vogt, CEO of the Retail division, and Thomas Eisele, CEO of the Food Service division, will assume the management of the respective business units on an ad interim basis.

Peter Obeldobel, CEO of the Retail Germany business unit, has decided to leave the Valora Group in January 2019 to take on a new challenge outside of the company. Roger Vogt, CEO of the Retail division and member of Group Executive Management, will assume this function on a temporary basis. After joining the Valora Group as a member of the extended Group Executive Management in 2015, Peter Obeldobel has been responsible for the retail business in Germany, comprising the formats cigo, k kiosk, Press & Books, avec and ServiceStore DB / U-Store, as well as in Luxembourg (k kiosk, Press & Books), and since 2018 also the ten Press & Books sales outlets in Austria.

Michel Gruber, Managing Director Food Service Switzerland, has also decided to accept a new challenge outside of the Valora Group. Thomas Eisele, CEO of the Food Service division and member of Group Executive Management, will with immediate effect assume the management of the Food Service business in Switzerland until further notice. Michel Gruber joined the Valora Group in 2010. He took over as Managing Director of Brezelkönig in 2014 and has for the past two years been responsible for the Food Service Switzerland business unit, comprising the formats Brezelkönig, Caffè Spettacolo and BackWerk Switzerland.
